Mohawk Street

,

Nights of poetry.

I want to relive those nights with her… Mohawk street 10 years of my life with someone. That age in your 20’s when your carefree and living free.

A song about that house.

Verse 1
I drove back to our old street,
Parked across from our old house
Where we lived in our early twenties
When we were figuring it out
It doesn’t look the same now,
Like our fingerprints wore thin
I can still see our bedroom window
Still imagine us sleeping in
It was always breaking down,
Nothing worked but we made it ours
Couldn’t afford the newer things
So it looked like a 90s TV star
So young,
Never worried ’bout the years ahead
Felt like kings in a beat-up house
With a future we never read

Verse 2
Most nights were spent
In that bar room we designed
The only thing that never changed
Was the oak bar and cheap red wine
Parties till the sun came up,
Dragging the whole bar home at close
Pissing off the neighbors on the street
Just kids who didn’t know what they’d lose

Bridge
Sitting here now,
God, I miss that shitty house

Chorus/Outro
Would you take a walk with me, relive a
couple nights
On Mohawk Street
Would you pick one day,
Or let our old records play on repeat
I’m leaving now, one last look at that old
place
We live in modern houses now
But they don’t feel the same
Just one night,
God damn, getting older makes you see
You never know you’re living memories
Till they’re memories
